“Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response: One time where I was faced with a high-pressure situation was when I decided to pluck an eyelash out of my eye with pointy tweezers. One wrong move, and I could jab myself in the eye, or accidentally remove my entire eye from the socket. I steadied my hand as I slowly brought it closer to my eye. I was holding my first with tweezers with my other as I went in. I held my breath and prayed as I closed the tweezers. I missed. I kept trying, inching the tweezers closer to my eye with every pinch until I had finally gotten it out of my eye. I felt the hair move past the underside of my eye as it left. Once it was finally out, I let out a sigh of relief and wiped the tweezers on my shirt.

Summary: Today we read the poem Out, Out by Robert Frost

Reflection: Today I learned that you have to only accept responsibilities that correspond to your age.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?
