Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

Prompt Response:  Creativity is something that I have been trying to expand over the years. I enjoy expressing myself through art and music, and I take lots of time to myself to provide an insight to my mind in hopes to fuel my creativity. The main step that I take when working on a project is creating my outline. I like to have a basic outline and plan of what I want to do and accomplish within my project. I think my favorite project that I have done was my project on the solar system in 4th grade. I think this one is my favorite because I filled an entire 3 part poster board from top to bottom and left to right in words about my topic. Summary:  I was absent today. Reflection:  Today I learned that sometimes you have to become comfortable with things that are uncomfortable.

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

Prompt Response:  One vocabulary words that resonates with me personally is 'gibberish'. I have always loved this word for how ridiculous it sounds, and how the word perfectly depicts it's meaning. I am very glad that we have gotten the opportunity to learn about it and have it as one of our vocab words for this week. Summary: Today we analyzed a Martin Luther King speech. Reflection:  Today I learned how many important figures in history use rhetorical appeals and devices.

After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

Prompt Response:  In my personal opinion, I think that the Rhetorical device that is most effective is Procatalepsis. Using this device, the speaker or author is able to present the opposing viewpoint, while also addressing how it is not superior or correct. Not only does this strengthen their argument, but it also terminates any doubt of their main point. Summary: Today we are taking our rhetorical appeals/devices quiz Reflection:  Today I learned that you have to find time in your day to do the things you enjoy.

Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

Prompt Response:  When I was younger, I used to dissociate a lot. I could be doing whatever, but I would get this weird feeling like I was dreaming and I didn't feel real. It doesn't happen anymore, but I still think about it. Summary: Today we analyzed a Martin Luther King speech Reflection:  Today I learned that important figures used rhetoric.

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Prompt Response:  I think the place where I feel the most at peace is my Grandparent's house. It could be because every time I go over there, it is usually during a break in school, or a time I don't have work which allows me to really relax, or maybe it's because of the calm countryside. I love going to my grandparent's house because I feel like time slows down, due to the calmness of the countryside. Summary: Today, we analyzed what a simile, metaphor, and analogy is and we also analyzed a speech from Trump. Reflection:  Today I learned how much rhetoric can be used and seen today in speeches and important dialogue.

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Prompt Response:  There have been many times where I have had to rely on another person. One time, I was coming back from lunch when I realized that my airpod was missing. I looked and searched for about 10 minutes until I came to the conclusion that I had left it at lunch. I immediately texted my friend Stella because I knew that she was in the lunch after me, and I was praying that she would be able to find it. About 5 minutes after I texted her, she sent me a picture of my airpod and under it said "found it!" I was so relieved and I thanked her about a million times. Summary: Today we learned about Procatalepsis and Distincto as rhetoric tools. Reflection:  Today I learned what was and how you could use the Rhetoric Procatalepsis and Distincto

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

Prompt Response:  One life skill that high school has taught me is time management. First starting high school I had no clue how to properly manage my time and space out my assignments and homework, as well as balance my free time. In the future, this will help me to be more balanced in my work/free time and allow me to enjoy my time better. Summary: Today we learned about the crisis rhetoric. Reflection:  Today I learned what a crisis rhetoric is.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

Prompt Response:  Currently, I have been taking a very long hiatus from creating art. The last time I made something was over the summer and I feel like I am not very motivated to even start anything now. I feel like I should step out of my comfort zone and start creating art with more meaning behind it, but I don't know where to start. Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

Prompt Response:  The lesson was so much information that I thought my brain was going to explode. Even though there was a lot to retain, I only got a little bit of information down. It wasn't a good day for me to learn it because I had a headache though. Summary: Today we learned about litotes, understatements, and hyperbole. Reflection:  Today I learned what litotes are.

In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

Prompt Response:  This winter break, I took a lot of time to hang out with my friends and family. My friend Stella was home from college so we hung out a lot, and during the holidays, I spent a lot of time with family. I also was working, so I made a lot of money.
