How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Prompt Response: The film has truly helped me to visualize the plot, better than the actual story. I am a visual learner, so seeing the story unfold rather than reading about it helps me to better comprehend the setting and sequence of events that take place within the story. Though the sequence is the same, it seems as if Chris is depicted to be a bit more friendly and outgoing than in the book. I feel like he had greater connections with people and he was just a friendlier person overall.

Summary: Today we watched a little bit of "Into the Wild"

Reflection: Today I learned how books and movies can be similar, yet so different.

In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?
