Reflect on your reading of Into the Wild chapters 1–10. Which chapter stood out to you the most, and why? In your response, explain what specifically made this chapter meaningful, interesting, or impactful. You may consider elements such as McCandless’s actions, a key event, a theme, or Krakauer’s storytelling.

Prompt Response: In my personal opinion, chapter 9 stood out to me the most. I think this stood out to me because it was mostly a collection of different explorers and travelers that decided to do the same thing Alex did, many with the same motivations. The other chapters were mainly focused around McCandless or the narrator, so this one stood out to me the most.

Summary: Today we took a test on chapters 1-9 of Into the Wild.

Reflection: Today I learned things without a consistent pattern stick out to me the most.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?
